(6-11-23) Shawndale and Donald Chilcoat of Celina could be receiving plea deal offers from federal prosecutors soon and before July 3rd, which is at their next court hearing.
Both were arrested last August and face several charges. FBI officials said that they had connected the Chilcoats to the January 6th incident at the US Capitol through pictures that were taken of them supposedly participating.

Shawndale Chilcoat since the incident submitted 3 separate motions to dismiss this cased based on a “Sovereign CItizen” defense. These motions were denied.
Court TV description – While sovereign citizens reject the current federal, state and local governments and consider themselves outside their authority, the beliefs hold no legal weight and are not a recognized defense to an alleged criminal act.
The Chilcoats are due back in court July 3. A plea offer is expected before that hearing.
