We are sorry to announce that the Starlight Drive-In Rt.127 119 will not be open this season. Dan Myers, the owner has passed suddenly.

The drive-in opened in 1949 and Myers has been the owner since 1987. Last season the theater was only was open for five weeks due to Myers health issues.

According to the Facebook page the Starlight had been scheduled to open on May 26th. The outdoor drive-in is located on US 127 close the 119 intersection.

OBITUARY

Daniel R. Myers, age 72 of Coldwater, died Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at his home in Coldwater. He was born August 12, 1950 in Celina to Richard and Joan (Fox) Myers. He is survived by his mother; Joan Myers of Coldwater; daughters, Joannie Bruns & Tim Martin of Celina, and Valerie Gehle of Celina; a brother, Tim & Elaine Myers of St. Henry; 5 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren with one on the way. He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Myers, and one great-grandchild.

He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Daniel retired after many years working for New Idea, Cooper Farms, and Erwin Brothers. He enjoyed woodworking and operated the Starlight Drive-In since 1988.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, May 15, 2023, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater. Burial will follow in St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coldwater. Friends may call from 1 to 5 pm on Sunday, May 14 and Monday from 9 to 10 am at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home in Coldwater. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
