Auglaize County Commissioners Declare State Of Emergency

(4-1-23) Auglaize County Commissioners have declared a State of Emergency after last night’s storm plowed thru the county.

Wapakoneta City Police posted updates on the power outages in the city –

City of Wapakoneta employees are working diligently to restore power and clean up debris for those who have been impacted.

Latest information our department has received from the Electric Department – it is too soon to tell how soon power will be restored to everyone. It could be a day in some areas.

PLEASE avoid the areas most impacted by the storm, especially Bellefontaine Street at Cemetery Road. The amount of onlookers has interfered with crews cleaning up the area – requiring additional resources for traffic control.

The storm was widespread in the Stateline area…Allen, Auglaize, Mercer and Van Wert counties were under tornado warnings early Saturday morning.

One person was killed and 28 injured at the Apollo Theater located in Belvider, Illinois on Friday after a roof collapsed on concertgoers as a powerful storm and high winds swept through the area. The heavy metal band Morbid Angel was scheduled to perform.
