JAY COUNTY, Ind.(3-28-23) – The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a bridge closure for S.R. 1 over Mud Creek.

Beginning on or after Monday, April 10, crews will close S.R. 1 for a bridge deck rehabilitation and overlay. This project consists of removing and replacing the existing deteriorated side copings of the bridge. Milestone Contractors LP will construct a new Latex Modified Concrete overlay, add new Guardrail End Treatments and install new riprap for erosion control scouring under the bridge. Work is expected to last through the beginning of September, weather depending.

The official detour during the closure is S.R. 26 to U.S. 27 to S.R. 18. 

This contract was awarded to Milestone Contractors LP for $1,047,579 in September 2022.
