(11-27-22) Update from Celina Police Department –

On Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 2022 at about 6:37PM Celina P.D. responded of a report of a stabbing at 537 Touvelle St., Lot 28 Celina. Through the investigation officers found at Celina resident, Alex Rodriguez (24) had been visiting his girlfriend, Jena Marie Curry (24) at her residence. The pair had been dating for about a week. An altercation occurred between the two and Rodriguez received a single, significant size, stab wound in his back near the right shoulder. Details of the incident remain under investigation.

Alex Rodriguez was taken by a private vehicle to a local hospital and then to a trauma center for surgery. The injury is not thought to be life threatening. Jena Marie Curry is being held at the Mercer County Jail on a charge of Felonious Assault, a second degree felony. Bond has not been set.

Mercer County Prosecutor, Erin Minor will be reviewing the case to present to the next Grand Jury. No further details can be released at this time.

(11-25-22) Jena Mari Curry (24) of Celina was arrested by Celina Police on Thanksgiving evening after allegedly stabbing her boyfriend at a residence on Touvelle Street just after 6:30 pm.

Curry was taken into custody and is presently being held at the Mercer County Adult Detention Center She is being held on a 2nd Degree felony charge of felonious assault with no bail. Curry is waiting for a Celina Municipal Court hearing.

The unidentified victim was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
