(10-26-22) The Fraternal Order of Eagles 1292 in Rockford recently completed a building project – an addition of an outdoor social area. Eagle’s membership bought the property directly to the north of their Aerie which was once the Terry’s Trim building. In 2021, after razing the building, they began construction of the outdoor area complete with concrete patio, decorative fencing, two entrances to the Eagles Lodge and large scenic windows that people can see out, but no one can see in. Tables and chairs complete the outdoor patio. Taller seating inside the building looks out onto the patio. The final piece was recently set in place by members – a large concrete Eagle weighing over 600 lbs sits on a one ton concrete pedestal. Member Howie Courtney took charge of purchasing the Eagle and getting it painted with details. Dick Shaffer created the concrete pedestal with the Aerie number 1292 molded into it. The Eagles invite you to come by and take a look.
