Lima, OH (March 1, 2022) The Lima Symphony Orchestra’s popular Symphony Storytime program returns to libraries in the region during March and April. Featuring performances by musicians from the Lima Symphony Orchestra, this program will focus on the theme of emotions. Live programs will happen at the following locations:

  • Tuesday, March 8 at 6 PM – Putnam County District Library (136 Putnam Pkwy, Ottawa, OH 45875)
  • Thursday, March 10 at 10:30 AM – Mercer County District Library (303 N Main St, Celina, OH 45822)
  • Tuesday, March 22 at 5:30 PM – Bluffton Public Library (145 S Main St, Bluffton, OH 45817)
  • Thursday, March 24 at 6:30 PM – New Bremen Public Library (45 S Washington St, New Bremen, OH 45869)
  • Thursday, April 7 at 6 PM – Auglaize County Public District Library (203 Perry St, Wapakoneta, OH 45895)

For this innovative program, children and their families will enjoy outstanding newer publications featuring the theme of “emotions.” This program features In My Heart: A Book of Feelings by Jo Witek, Layla’s Happiness by Mariahadessa Ekere Tallie, Pout Pout Fish by Deborah Diesen, Jabari Jumps by Gaia Cornwall, all accompanied by live music from Lima Symphony Orchestra musicians. The program will draw parallels between musical concepts such as major and minor to various emotions, using musical examples to accompany the stories. With a focus on creative movement and music literacy, “Symphony Storytime” is designed to spark children’s imaginations and foster a lifelong love of and appreciation for music. This program is appropriate for all ages and is free and open to the public.
