(10-25-21) Mariah Nichole Miller (20) of Wapakoneta has been indicted by an Auglaize County Grand Jury on felony charges of involuntary manslaughter, possession of methamphetamine and possession of fentanyl.
The Auglaize County Prosecutor’s Ooffice reports say the charges are related to the death of Nate Ellis (40) of St Marys in February of this year. Miller is being held in the Auglaize County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
If convicted, Miller faces 11 years for the involuntary manslaughter charge, 8 years on the possession of methamphetamine charge and 12 months on the fentanyl charge.
Miller’s next court appearance has not yet been set.
Who was Nathan Ellis?
Nathan J. Ellis, 40, of Saint Marys, was found dead on Saturday, February 20, 2021, at his residence.
He was born April 6, 1980, in Greenville, Ohio, the son of L. Nathan and Marjorie (Hemmelgarn) Ellis.
He is survived by his mother: Marjorie (Mark Siegel) Mayhew of Versailles; his father, Nathan Ellis of Saint Marys; his children: Evan Ellis and Austi Ellis; by his siblings: Derek Ellis; Casey Jo Ellis and Hannah Ellis. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Charlotte Ellis of Yorkshire, Ohio.
Nathan attended high school in Versailles. He was Roman Catholic, by faith.
