(5-11-21) Mercer Health’s Visitor Policy was updated, Friday, May 7.
Two adult visitors, meeting all general guidelines and screenings, are now allowed at a time in the following areas: ICU and Acute Care Units, Pediatrics, Surgery, Childbirth Center (also allowed are immediate household siblings) and Emergency Department. In end-of-life circumstances, additional visitors may be present based on the patient’s needs and hospital’s ability to provide a safe environment. Clergy is also permitted after proper screening. All other areas are allowed one visitor per visit.
Visitation remains restricted for all suspect and positive COVID-19 patients.
All general guidelines also remain unchanged: Must be screened, Must wear a mask (no exceptions) and Encouraged to stay in the room with the patient. Visitation is limited to 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. unless accompanying an emergency, maternity or pediatric patient. No visitors under age 18, with the exception of immediate household siblings in the Childbirth Center.
