(5-10-21) On May 10, 2021 at approximately 3:00 p.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies along with New Madison Fire, Tri-Village Rescue, Arcanum Rescue, Northwest EMS, MedFlight and CareFlight responded to the 2000 block of Mills Road west of New Madison for a reported two-vehicle injury crash with entrapment.

Preliminary investigation revealed a silver 2002 Buick LeSabre driven by Amos Weimer (17) of New Madison was traveling eastbound on Mills Road and drove off the right side of the roadway while negotiating a curve and over-corrected causing his vehicle to travel left of center and hit a westbound gray 2006 Chevy HHR, driven by Kathryn Osborne (41) of Hollansburg with two male juvenile passengers.
Kathryn was extricated by non-mechanical means and was taken by MedFlight to Miami Valley Hospital for injuries along with her son Wesley (14) aboard CareFlight, while passenger Zane Osborne (16) was treated and released at the scene.
The driver of the Buick, Amos Weimer was taken to Reid Hospital by Northwest EMS.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office. (5-10-21)
