(3-18-21) Two local men have been sentenced in Mercer County Common Pleas Court.
Yokkup and Meyer
Lawrence Meyer (57) of Celina, who had agreed to a plea deal in February, has been sentenced to five years of probation, 90 days of house arrest and has had his driver’s license revoked for life on a charge of aggravated vehicular homicide. Meyer was charged after he struck and killed James Riethman (58) of Rockford in August of last year. Meyer was previously convicted of vehicular homicide in 2000. Meyer faces prison time for 18 months if he violates the terms of his probation.

Conrad Yokkup (22) of Coldwater has been sentenced to 8 to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty last month to two counts of sexual battery that occurred in August and September of 2020 involving a 12 year old minor. As part of his plea bargain, two first degree felony charges of rape were dropped. Yokkup was arrested in October of 2020.
