The MCHD is anticipating our first round of COVID-19 vaccine to be delivered to this week. Due to the limited supply of vaccine, the first phase of vaccine administration will focus on critical groups and not available to the general public. The MCHD and Mercer Health will be coordinating efforts to help ensure that local independent doctor’s offices and other health care facilities do not get missed. All of the Long-Term Care Facilities will be vaccinated by CVS or Walgreens under the partnership for the Long-Term Care Program. When the priority group broadens out to all essential workers (phase 1b) we will be promoting our vaccination clinics via press releases and social media. Your continued patience is appreciated as we work through the vaccination process while continuing our daily COVID-19 pandemic response activities.
The MCHD staff will not be managing COVID-19 cases over the Christmas holiday weekend and the office will close at 11:30 AM on Thursday, December 24 and will reopen on Monday, December 28. As a result, MCHD does not anticipate issuing press releases or daily social media updates during this time. Your patience is appreciated as MCHD staff relax and enjoy the holiday weekend with their families.
