(9-27-20) An aggravated murder charge was filed in the Struthers (Ohio) Municipal Court against Kimonie Bryant (24), the alleged shooter in the Monday, September 21st mass shooting in Struthers. During the shooting killed was 4-year-old Rowan Sweeney. He did not enter a plea to the felony during his video arraignment Wednesday and is not eligible for bond. Bryant is presently be held in the Mahoning County jail
According to the authorities a gunman barged into a two-story home (111 Perry St.) in Struthers. Bryant turned himself in to U.S. Marshal’s service about 8 p.m. Monday — 18 hours after the shooting four adults and fatally shooting Sweeney.
A criminal complaint filed in Struthers Municipal Court alleges that the mother covered the boy and begged the gunman not to shoot him. Bryant aimed a gun at the Sweeney’s head and fired two shots at the top of his head.
The four other victims — Andre Stephon McCoy (20) and Yarnell Green Jr., (30,) both of Youngstown, Cassandra Marsicola (20) of Campbell and Alexis Schneider (22), the child’s mother — were injured.
One man was shot twice in the back of the head and the other was hit twice in the back. The women sustained leg wounds.
One of the victims, Andre McCoy Jr., who remains on life support.
All other victims remain in stable condition.
