CELINA- As of September 8, 2020, the Mercer County Health District (MCHD) reports 870 confirmed cases, 45 probable cases, 766 recovered cases, 29 pending cases, 2,989 negative cases, 7 hospitalizations, 15 deaths, and 1 probable death of COVID-19. Currently, there are 87 active cases of COVID-19 in Mercer County.
There is a rumor circulating on the internet regarding the non-congregate sheltering order. Neither FEMA, ODH, nor MCHD will force anyone to quarantine against their will. The order simply accommodates those who are unable to safely self-quarantine in their place of residence. The order can be found here: https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/static/publicorders/DO-Non-Congregate-Shelter-Second-Amended-08.31.20.pdf
The MCHD wants to remind the public to get your information from credible sources. The potential for misinformation and rumors during the time of public health threats is high.
