Yesterday, Governor DeWine announced a mandatory mask order for all counties in Ohio, beginning tonight at 6:00 PM. The following applies to the mandate:

  • Masks must be worn at all times when at an indoor location that is not a residence
  • Outdoors – when unable to keep 6’ social distance from those not in your household
  • When waiting for, riding, driving or operating public transportation, such as a taxi, car service, or private rideshares
  • The following groups are not required to wear a mask: individuals under the age of 10, individuals who have a medical condition or disability, officiants at religious services, individuals actively exercising or playing sports, individuals involved in public safety, and individuals actively eating or drinking.

A travel advisory was issued on July 22, 2020, for all individuals coming into Ohio from states reporting COVID-19 testing rates of 15 percent or higher. Those traveling from one of the following states should self-quarantine for 14 days at home or in a hotel: Alabama, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Mississippi, Nevada, South Carolina, and Texas.

The MCHD appreciates the patience from the community as our small staff handles a significant amount of work. We will continue to keep the public informed.
