UNION COUNTY, INDIANA (6-7-20) — Indiana State Troopers and Union County Sheriff deputies responded to a head-on crash, around 3:30 p.m. in the 2700 block of Nine Mile Road in Union County,where three were pronounced dead on scene and one more later died due to injuries.
Early investigation by Trooper Tipton and Crash Reconstruction Investigator Trooper Mark Hanna indicated that driver Savanna Kinder, 23, of Richmond, Indiana, was traveling southbound when her vehicle ran off the side of the road.
Kinder over-corrected and the car came across the road and into the path of a car driven by Connor Brite, 22, of Decatur, Indiana.
Brite and his back seat passenger, Jordan Fuelling, 20, also of Decatur, were pronounced dead on scene. A front seat passenger, Trevor Oritz, Decatur, was taken to a hospital where he later passed away due to injuries.
All involved were wearing seat belts. It is believed that excessive speed played a role in the cause of the collision.
Troopers Tipton and Hanna were assisted at the scene by the Union County Sheriff’s Department, Liberty and Richmond Fire Departments and Spirit EMS.
