(5-21-20) Shelby County’s Chris Gibbs of Shelby County hasd suspended his independent campaign for the 4th District Congressional seat currently held by Republican Jim Jordan.

Gibbs thought he had gathered 1% of the number of voters by the March 16th deadline in the most recent gubernatorial election to be placed on the November ballot. Gibbs  was notified that  many of the signatures were ruled to be invalid.

In a recent report Gibbs has reported a fundraising total of $50,716, way below that of incumbent Jim Jordan who had a reported total of $1.9 million dollars.

Gibbs, a former Republican, spent 12 years with the Shelby County Board of Elections, also worked for the Mercer County Farm Service Agency for over 25 years.
