CELINA- (5-13-20) The Mercer County Health District  (MCHD) has opened an outbreak at the Gardens-St. Henry due to an employee and a previous resident who have both been confirmed to be ill with COVID-19. The MCHD is working with the Ohio Department of Health on this outbreak.  The MCHD continues to monitor all of the Long Term Care Facilities across the county. The Ohio Department of Health releases information on long-term care facilities every Wednesday. The MCHD  reports (3 have been hospitalized)

  • 87th confirmed case is a female in the age range of 30-40 years and is self-isolating at home.
  • 88th confirmed case is a hospitalized female in the age range of 50-60 years.
  • 89th confirmed case is a hospitalized male in the age range of 70-80 years.
  • 90th confirmed case is a male in age range of 80-90 years and is self-isolating at home.
  • 91st confirmed case is male in the age range of 30-40 years and is self-isolating at home.
  • 92nd confirmed case is male in the age range of 20-30 years and is self-isolating at home.
  • 93rd confirmed case is a male in the age range of 20-30 years and is self-isolating at
  • 94th case is a female in the age range of 40-50 years and is self-isolating at home.
  • 95th case is a hospitalized male in the age range of 60-70 years.
  • 96th case is a female in the age range of 50-60 years and is self-isolating at home.
  • 97th confirmed case is a male in the age range of 30-40 years of age and is self-isolating at home.
  • 98th case is a female in the age range of 60-70 years and is self-isolating at home.
  • 99th case is a male in the age range of 20-30 years and is self-isolating at home.
  • 100th case is a female in the age range of 50-60 years and is self-isolating at home.
  • 101st case is a female in the age range of 60-70 years old and is self-isolating at home.

As previously announced, MCHD has been monitoring an ongoing situation at Cooper Farms. At this time, 36 confirmed COVID-19 cases are employed at the St. Henry Processing Plant. There are 30 cases pending COVID-19 results.

As of May 13, 2020, the MCHD reports 101 confirmed cases, 24 recovered cases, 138 pending cases, 367 negative cases, 7 hospitalizations, and 1 death of COVID-19.

Of the 101 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 58 confirmed cases (57%) are White Non-Hispanic, 39 confirmed cases (39%), are Pacific Islanders, and 4 confirmed cases (4%) are Hispanic. The age range is 19-90 years of age. 57 females and 44 males are confirmed cases. COVID-19 is community spread, with confirmed cases in the following cities/villages: Celina (44), Coldwater (28), Fort Recovery (3), Maria Stein (6), Mendon (3), Rockford (1), St. Henry (15), and Burkettsville (1).
