(10-13-19) Beloit, Wisconsin – At approximately 4:26pm on October 12, 2019 the Town of Beloit (Wisconsin) Fire Department and Town of Beloit Police Department were dispatched to 2919 S Park Ave in Beloit for a car vs house. An off-duty Beloit Deputy Fire Chief arrived on the scene first and found a pick-up truck through the roof of the garage on a condo.
Pieter E. Bruner (37) drove a red Dodge pickup truck which crashed into the roof of the home.
Town of Beloit Police Chief Ron Northrop said a witness reported a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on Park Avenue when it left the roadway and went into water-retaining ditch which caused the vehicle to go airborne and crash into the roofline of the house.
Joseph Nyre said he was watching the Badgers game in his “man cave” when the truck came crashing through the roof, only about 12 feet from him. His wife Delores Nyre, who was in the kitchen at the time, said the truck was sitting on her Audi convertible.The couple was not injured.
The Town of Beloit Fire Department and Town of Beloit Police Department were on scene for over two hours while the truck was being removed from the house. The garage area of the condo was extensively damaged. Damage estimates of the structure and personal belongings are unknown at this time.
One person was transported to the hospital as a result of this accident. No emergency responders were injured at this incident.
The City of Beloit Fire Department sent a squad and an ambulance to assist with the incident. The City of Beloit Police Department also provided mutual aid to the incident. Dewey’s Towing and Recovery removed the vehicle from the house.
