Auglaize County — On August 12, 2019 at approximately 5:06 am, the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol investigated a two vehicle serious injury crash on U.S. 33 near milepost 29 in Auglaize County.
Initial investigation of the scene indicates that a northbound 2004 Jeep Cherokee driven by Troy Dempster, a 50 year old male of Huntsville, Ohio, went left of center and struck a southbound 2018 Ford F-150 driven by Charlette Plapp, 54 year old female of Waynesfield, Ohio, head on. Both drivers received severe injuries. Dempster was flown to Grant Medical Center, while Plapp was flown to St. Rita’s Medical Center.
Assisting agencies include the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, Wayne Township Fire and EMS, Indian Lake EMS, Life Flight, Med Flight, Russell’s Point Fire Department, and ODOT.
The crash is still under investigation.
Alcohol or drugs is not a suspected factor.
