(7-8-19) On July 7th, 2019 Ms. Christine Pierce-McCoy (46), of Arcanum passed away from injuries she suffered  during a June 22nd accident in Darke County. She was pronounced deceased by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office at the Miami Valley Hospital.

The accident investigation revealed that a 2004 Ford F-250 driven by Pierce-McCoy  was traveling northwest in the 2600 block of State Route 503 when she failed to negotiate a curve. Pierce-McCoy traveled off the right side of the roadway and over-corrected causing the to vehicle overturn an unknown number of times before coming to a rest on it’s top.  Pierce-McCoy had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency personnel at the scene and was taken to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight where she was listed in critical condition at the time.
