Marlon D. Hughes was arrested for preliminary charges of Dealing Marijuana (Level 5 Felony) and Dealing a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance (Level 2 Felony).

(1-3-19) On December 20, 2018, a Fort Wayne man was arrested as a result of a traffic stop that occurred on Piqua Road located in rural Decatur, Adams County, Indiana. Adams County Deputies discovered approximately 68 pounds of Marijuana in the vehicle and approximately 1003 Oxycodone Hydrochloride 30mg pills.

Adams County Deputy Sheriff Daniel Heckard conducted a traffic stop on a dark colored SUV for a traffic violation, after being dispatched to the area in reference to a suspicious person/vehicle. As Deputy Heckard made contact with the driver of the SUV, later identified as Marlon D. Hughes, he became suspicious of possible drug activity. Deputy Heckard requested off duty Adams County K9 Deputy Sheriff Bryce Kukelhan to respond to the traffic stop. Upon arrival, Deputy Kukelhan deployed his highly trained K9 partner, Cezar, to conduct a free-air sniff around the SUV. K9 Cezar alerted to the odor of narcotics and a search of the vehicle was conducted. Deputies discovered boxes containing vacuumed sealed packages of suspected marijuana. The total weight of the marijuana seized is approximately 68 pounds. Also located at the scene was a bag containing approximately 1,003 Oxycodone Hydrochloride 30mg pills. The marijuana and pills have an estimated street value of approximately $170,000.00.
