(12-13-18) Tuesday night in Union City, Indiana Amy L. Gambill (29) Celina and a Portland, Indiana, man Kerry L. Meredith (37) were arrested on felony drug charges.
Union City Indiana Patrolman Tyler Hobbs, along with officers from the Union City Ohio Police Department, responded to 709 W. Division St., Union City, Indiana, in an attempt to locate Gambill who was wanted on two warrants for unpaid child support. Hobbs was allowed inside the residence by the home owner, who then located Gambill along with Meredith in an upstairs bedroom.
Hobbs observed Gambill throw something underneath a desk, while speaking with the two and observed a clear plastic bag containing a crystal like substance and a clear plastic bag containing a white powdery substance in plain view on the desk in the room.
After receiving consent from the home owner to search the bedroom, Hobbs located approximately 10 grams of methamphetamines, 6 grams of fentanyl and several syringes. Further investigation revealed that Gambill had thrown a syringe under the desk.
After their arrest Gambill and Meredith were transported to the Randolph County Jail. Gambill was booked n charges of possession of methamphetamines (Level 5 Felony), possession of narcotic drug (Level 5 Felony), possession of a legend injection device (Level 6 Felony) and two active warrants for unpaid child support. Meredith was booked on the charges of possession of methamphetamines (Level 5 Felony), possession of a narcotic drug (Level 5 Felony) and possession of a legend injection device ( Level 6 Felony).
