(10-1-18) A Donate Life flag will be raised at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital on Monday, October 8, at 11:30 a.m., as part of the Flags Across Ohio initiative.  We invite the public to attend and participate in this event.

To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Donate Life America’s Flags Across America Campaign, Donate Life Ohio has challenged its member organizations to raise a Donate Life flag in each of Ohio’s 88 counties in 2018. The goal of the Flags Across Ohio initiative is to raise awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation statewide. Life Connection of Ohio, the organization that promotes and facilitates organ donation in northwest and west central Ohio, has partnered with Joint Township District Memorial Hospital to host the Flags Across Ohio event in Auglaize County.

This awareness event couldn’t come at a more crucial time. Currently, there are nearly 115,000 people on the national transplant waiting list, including 2,900 Ohioans. The organ shortage continues to grow at a staggering rate, as another person is added to the waiting list every 10 minutes. Sadly, 20 people die every day waiting for an organ transplant. The good news: One person has the power to save up to 8 lives through organ donation and heal 125 more through tissue donation.
