(7-25-18) Eighty-one students successfully completed Mercer Health’s babysitter training program this summer. According to Betsy Schoenleben, R.N., Education Coordinator at Mercer Health, the students were trained in proper supervision, basic caregiving skills, and how to respond to an ill or injured child. The students participated in check-offs such as diapering, bottle-feeding, and handwashing and participated in a CPR and choking simulation. As part of the class, the Coldwater Police Department and Mercer County Central Dispatch spoke to the students. Students also viewed a CPR/First Aid video made possible by a donation from the Mercer County Civic Foundation. Students were required to pass a test to receive certification.

Students who completed the training are listed below by session date.
