(7-13-18) Last night at 11:25 p.m. a state trooper initiated a traffic stop on Glenn Oak Drive in the city of Youngstown. The suspect fled the scene dragging the trooper approximately one mile. Another trooper began to pursue the vehicle until the suspect stopped and the trooper was able to break free. The trooper sustained non-life threatening injuries to his shoulder and back, and was later transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital.
The suspect has been positively identified as Jamel Robert Patton. An arrest warrant has been issued by Youngstown Municipal Court. Please see the attached BOLO. The Patrol is seeking the public’s assistance in locating the suspect, Jamel Robert Patton, for assault on an officer.
