(7-9-18) Pending Board of Education approval on Monday, July 9, 2018, William (Bill) Overla will become the new High School Principal at Fort Recovery Local Schools. He is replacing Marcus Overman, who resigned in May to become 7-12 Principal at New Bremen Local Schools in Auglaize County.
Mr. Overla is currently a Supervisor at Miami Valley Career Technology Center and previously was the Assistant Principal and Head Principal at Troy City Schools for 11 years. In addition, he has served as an Athletic Director for three years, a Career Based Intervention Instructor and a Marketing Education Coordinator during his twenty-six year career in education. During his time in the classroom, Bill coached football, track and field, wrestling and was the student government advisor. As an administrator he has valuable experience in effective leadership, building a family environment for students and staff, encouraging team concepts, hiring, evaluation, professional development, master scheduling, budgets and advocating for the students, staff and the school district.
Bill grew up and attended Northmont High School in Clayton, OH and received a Bachelor’s Degree from Bowling Green State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton. Bill currently resides in Troy, Ohio, with his wife Lisa of 25 years and their three children: Seth 22 (Graduate Student at the University of Cincinnati), Katie 19 (Student at Kent State University) and Lauren 10.
