(April 21, 2018) At approximately 1:24 PM Darke County Deputies along with Gettysburg Rescue, Gettysburg Fire and Careflight were dispatched to 8671 Old US 36 in reference to a self inflicted gun shot wound.
Preliminary investigation revealed Luke Meyer, 21, of Houston, was removing a pistol from a holster located on his side. As Meyer removed the pistol he accidentally discharged the firearm. The bullet from the firearm struck Meyer in the upper left leg. Meyer was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight. Meyer was treated and has been released from Miami Valley Hospital.
This incident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
