Victims have been indentified, Sarah Schwartz, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, her husband, Henry Schwartz, 26, and their two children, Elmer, 18-months, and Ester, 4-months, were all ejected in the crash
(4-20-18) A 23 year old woman riding in what is presumed to be an Amish buggy, that was properly lit, was killed and three others, including two infants and a man, were injured in a crash with a SUV at around 9 pm in the 22000 block of SR 47 West, near Township Road 33 North in Shelby County.
The woman (name has not been released) was pronounced dead at the scene, the two children and man was critically injured and were taken to Sidney’s Wilson Memorial Hospital in Sidney, the man was later transferred to Miami Valley Hospital. They were all from the Maplewood area.
The driver of the SUV, Steven Hunter (42) of Sidney, fled the crash scene but was later picked up in Logan County and is currently in police custody in the Shelby County Jail. He has been charged on two counts, aggravated vehicular manslaughter and stopping after an accident on a public road charge
Two CareFlight medical helicopters responded to the scene.
