(12-21-17)  Arts Place is looking for artists to lead Arts in the Parks classes during the summer 2018 program. Arts in the Parks works in rural communities across East Central Indiana and West Central Ohio introducing children to the arts and fostering their creativity. The program runs from early June to the end of July. We are seeking instructors who are flexible, passionate about community building and love working with children.

Arts Place’s teaching artists generally have at least a four-year degree in the arts, but individuals with significant art experience will also be considered. Teaching artists will be contracted for one or two week residencies. During that time, the artist will be placed with a compatible local family in pleasant surroundings. Teaching artists typically earn $550 to $1,200 per week based on training, experience, and demand. Supplies for classes and reimbursement for mileage between class sites are provided. Teaching artists are responsible for their own meals and travel to and from the area.

To apply, artists should send a resume, 10 work samples, 3 class activity samples or community project ideas, and a letter of interest to kanderson@artsland.org by February 5, 2018. To inquire about positions and the program prior to applying, contact Kimberly Anderson at (270) 726-4809 ext. 230 or at kanderson@artsland.org.
