COLUMBUS, OH– Today, Republican Governor Mike DeWine, who endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy, called on him to take down the advertisement featuring Dr. Amy Acton’s estranged and abusive mother, who stayed married to Dr. Acton’s rapist until he died, and condemned Ramaswamy’s decision to spend millions of dollars airing the ad.
Gov. DeWine slams Vivek Ramawamy’s disturbing decision to campaign with Dr. Acton’s abusive and estranged mother:
- The ad on its face is deeply, deeply troubling. But when you know the rest of the story, when you know the backstory, when you know that the husband of the mom was indicted by a grand jury after hearing testimony and that he took off along with the mother and that two children never saw the mother after that.
- When you know that, it just to me, makes it more serious. It makes it just more wrong.
- So it’s wrong to run this ad, and even at this late time, like Fran saw the ad run this morning on, on TV, I would just urge the Ramaswamy campaign to take this down. It’s just, it’s just wrong.
