Arienne Childrey Resigns As Vice Chair and Member of the ODP Pride Caucus

Today, I resigned as Vice Chair and member of the ODP Pride Caucus.

We are living in dangerous times. The GOP has weaponized trans lives, and the national trend of Democratic anti-trans triangulation has come to Ohio. Yet, the state party expects the Pride Caucus to act as a sales team—censoring our voices to protect candidates who trade on our rights for electoral advantage.

The ODP claims to be a “big tent” party, but their actions show the tent hasn’t gotten bigger; it has simply shifted, leaving trans Ohioans, progressives, and true allies out in the rain.

I am still a Democrat, and I will never stop fighting for our community. But I will no longer compromise my principles for a caucus that values party approval over true, defiant advocacy.
