Mercer County Emergency Management officials are urging residents to remain prepared as floodwater slowly moves west through the county.

Emergency Management Specialist Cassidy Freeman says the county received about two-tenths of an inch of additional rain overnight. While conditions should be drier Friday, another inch or more could fall in some areas this weekend if storms repeatedly move across the same locations.

Residents in western Mercer County should prepare now, including obtaining sandbags if their homes are vulnerable to flooding. Water remains over some roads, and officials stress that flooding can take time to recede.
