(9-8-26) The Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that a crash happened around 6:38 p.m. yesterday (September 7th) at the intersection of State Route 65 and Santa Fe New Knoxville Road.

A 2018 Dodge Charger driven by Benjamin Pruyn (26) of Marysville was traveling east on Santa Fe New Knoxville Road when it failed to stop at a stop sign and struck a northbound 2021 Chevrolet Malibu on State Route 65.
The Malibu was driven by Victoria Schweitzer (19) of Deshler. Following the collision, both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest in nearby cornfields.
Schweitzer suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger in the Malibu, Brian Boggs (18) of Jackson Center, was transported by ground ambulance to Lima Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.
Pruyn and his passenger, Mia Mills (18) of Marysville, suffered minor injuries and were not transported from the scene.
The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office, Auglaize County Coroner, St. Johns Fire Department, St. Johns EMS, the Ohio Department of Transportation and Nelson’s Towing assisted at the scene.
Troopers say alcohol or drug impairment is not suspected. The crash remains under investigation by the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
