PIQUA — Save Piqua, LLC announced today that community volunteers are actively circulating petitions to place a ban on the construction, use, and expansion of data centers and cryptocurrency mining facilities in the City of Piqua before local voters. The group is also circulating recall petitions targeting three of Piqua’s five City Commission members.

The commissioners named in the recall petitions are: Mayor James Vetter, Vice Mayor Frank DeBrosse, and Third Ward Commissioner Rick Walker.

Save Piqua said the petition drives reflect growing resident concern over large-scale industrial power (1,400 MW data center) and water demand, limited public disclosure surrounding major development projects, and accountability in local government decision-making.
