(7-31-26) A recent Daily Signal posted story concerning Ohio Democrat Governor candidate Amy Acton featured a comment from State Rep. Angie King (R-Celina) on biological males competing in women’s sports.

State Rep. Angie King posted the following-

I will always speak the truth—even when it’s uncomfortable, unpopular, or inconvenient. My comments to The Daily Signal reflect exactly that.

Speaking the truth isn’t just my conviction, it is my First Amendment right. And I will continue to exercise it without fear.

My comments to Daily Signal:

Will Amy Acton Lose This Democrat Candidate’s Support Over Protecting Women’s Sports?

Allowing biological males to compete in women’s sports undermines fair competitions and raises legitimate concerns about the safety and privacy of female athletes,” King said. “I’m proud of the work we’ve done in Ohio to protect women’s sports. I will always oppose the extreme agenda that undermines female athletes and their right to private spaces.”

The state representative also pointed out that Ohio law “recognizes two sexes, male and female, and provides that these classifications are not changeable under state law.”

“It’s disappointing that we’ve reached a point in society where the basic definition of woman is debated and the state Legislature must act to provide clarity in the law,” King said.

Note: The story also had comments from Arienne Childrey, a Democrat from St. Marys, Whois running against King in Ohio’s 84th District for State Representative.
