(7-14-26) Today the US House of Representatives in a bipartisan vote passed the Sunshine Protection Act (308-117) to make Daylight Saving Time (DST) permanent nationwide, ending the twice-yearly clock changes.

States will be allowed to opt out. The bill now heads to the US Senate…if it is passed President Trump can sign it into law.

Time would be as it is currently being observed right now (March-November)

Below is the vote by U.S. House members from Ohio and Indiana on H.R. 139 – the Sunshine Protection Act, Roll Call 238, held on July 14, 2026. The bill passed–117.
