(6-29-26) A second person has died following a dirt bike crash early Friday morning in Darke County.

Kasyn Hollinger (19) of New Madison, passed away Sunday at a Dayton-area hospital from injuries suffered in the crash.

The crash was reported before 1:30 a.m. Friday on Richmond Palestine Road, north of Downing Road.

A 2005 Honda CRF250 dirt bike operated by Ian Dixon (21) of Hollansburg was traveling northbound when it was struck by a 2014 KTM 350 SX-F dirt bike operated by Hollinger, which had been traveling southbound and crossed left of center.

Dixon’s dirt bike went off the west side of the road, while Hollinger’s dirt bike went off the east side of the road.

Dixon died from injuries suffered in the crash. Hollinger was seriously injured and flown to Kettering Health. He later died from his injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
