Fatal Motorcycle Crash

- Location: Kishler St. and Indiana Ave. (SR 29), St. Marys, Ohio
On Wednesday June 24th, 2026, at 1:24pm the St. Marys Police and Fire Departments responded to the intersection of Kishler St. and Indiana Ave. (SR 29) in the City of St. Marys on a report of a single vehicle injury crash.
A Preliminary investigation revealed that Parker Wiechart (23) of Celina, Ohio was traveling north on Kishler St. crossing the intersection with Indiana Ave. (SR 29) operating a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle. While crossing thru the intersection. Wiechart lost control of his motorcycle causing the rear tire of the motorcycle to strike a curb on Kishler St. which in turn threw Wiechart from the motorcycle. Wiechart was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Wiechart was transported to Joint Township District Memorial Hospital where he was ultimately pronounced deceased.
The crash remains under investigation.
Mercer County Outlook 
The raised island in the middle of Kishler Street on the north side of Indiana Avenue does not align with the Kishler street on the south side of the intersection. If you are going north through the intersection, you have to go a little to the right to avoid going onto the island or into the wrong lane. This happened to me once, then became aware of it.
