NEW E BIKE & SCOOTER RULES – STARTS JULY 2
Minster residents — with the rise in e-bikes and scooters around town, new safety rules go into effect July 2.

Here’s what you need to know:
👨👩👧 HELMETS (Under 18)
- Required for anyone under 18 operating OR riding
- Must be properly fitted and strapped
💡 LIGHTS & VISIBILITY
- White headlight (visible up to 500 feet)
- Red rear light or reflector required
- If you’re riding at night, you need to be seen
🚫 SIDEWALK RESTRICTION
- Faster Class 3 e-bikes are NOT allowed on sidewalks or public trails
👮♂️ ENFORCEMENT
- First contact = warning and education
- Continued violations may lead to small fines (if offender is a juvenile, their parent or guardian can be cited)
🎯 WHY THE CHANGE?
These updates are focused on protecting our younger riders and improving safety for everyone as these devices become more common.
We’re here to educate first — not write tickets. Help us out by making sure riders know the rules before heading out.
