(6-10-26) Three booked recently in Mercer County, including two 19 year olds.

Lillyan Byer (19) of Celina was booked by the Celina Police Department on a 1st degree misdemeanor of theft without consent.

In OhioA person commits theft when they knowingly obtain or exert control over another person’s property or services without the owner’s consent and with the intent to deprive the owner of that property.

Zarik Deere (19) was booked by the Mercer County Sheriff’s Department on a 3rd degree misdemeanor of criminal mischief and a 2nd degree misdemeanor of obstructing justice.

He was released after being booked.

He was also booked in Logan County, Ohio on October 15, 2025 on obstructing justice.

Roy Rust (75) of Celina was booked on two counts of theft without consent.

A presumption of innocence means that any defendant in a criminal trial is assumed to be innocent until they have been proven guilty. As such, a prosecutor is required to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the person committed the crime if that person is to be convicted. To do so, proof must be shown for every single element of a crime.
