PRESS RELEASE

On June 1, 2026 at approximately 4:36 p.m. Darke County Deputies along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue and Greenville City Fire and Careflight, responded to the 3300 block of State Route 571 for a two-vehicle injury crash.

Preliminary investigation revealed a black Kia Sorento driven by Kathryn Montgomery (21) of Greenville and her infant child passenger, were traveling northwest on State Route 571 and were struck after she made a lefthand turn in front of a white Nissan Sentra, traveling southeast on State Route 571, driven by Gabriela Edwards (18) of Union City.

Edwards was flown to Miami Valley Hospital aboard CareFlight, and her front seat passenger Gabriella Pisano (18) of Union City, was transported to Wayne HealthCare.

Montgomery and her son were treated by EMS at the scene and released.
