(5-6-26) Jess Overly of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) was the guest speaker for the May 5 meeting of the Kiwanis Club of Coldwater.
FCA is a non-denominational Christian sports ministry that focuses on Coaches, Campus, Camp and Community ministry. The group’s mission is to lead every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
Jessica spoke specifically about the upcoming All-Abilities Camp, sponsored by FCA, that will take place at Coldwater Cavalier Stadium on June 20 beginning at 9 a.m. This is a free event and serves all ages. Individuals will participate in adaptive sports activities, including football, mini-golf, soccer, and basketball. A sensory room and therapy horses will also be on the agenda.
A t-shirt and an awards dinner are included. Register online by May 22, at District8fca.org/camp.
Volunteers are needed to serve as buddies, station leaders, or to manage registration and hospitality. Volunteers will have a brief leadership training session on Friday, June 19, at 6:00 p.m. at the stadium.
