St. Marys, Ohio —Community members are encouraged to take part in Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, a nationwide initiative that promotes the safe disposal of unused or expired medications to help protect our homes, communities, and environment. The Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office will partner with Grand Lake Health System to host a convenient, drive-up drop-off event from 8:00 to 10:00 AM at the hospital’s main entrance. Residents can simply pull up—no need to leave their vehicle—as deputies will be on hand to collect medications safely and efficiently.
“Proper disposal of medications is a simple step that has a meaningful impact on community safety and environmental health,” said organizers. “This event makes it quick and easy for everyone to do their part.”
For those unable to attend during the event, several secure, year-round medication drop-off locations are available:
- Joint Township District Memorial Hospital (blue disposal container in main lobby)
- Auglaize County Sheriff’s Office
- CVS
- Mercer County Sheriff’s Office
Please note: Liquids will not be accepted, and all pills should be placed in a plastic bag prior to disposal.
Take a few minutes on April 25 to clean out your medicine cabinet and help create a safer, healthier community.
