(4-18-26) Randolph County Emergency Management responded to 1099 Rainbow Drive in Winchester due to a commercial fire at Pallet Builders. Firefighters arrived to heavy fire conditions on the north end of the commercial complex.

Plastic pallets had caught fire and spread rapidly. Randolph County 911 dispatched multiple for departments to the scene, to include Winchester, White River, Lynn, Farmland, and Portland. Multiple police and EMS agencies were at scene as well, including Winchester, Randolph County, and Farmland.

There cause of the fire is under investigation. Extensive remediation of the environmental damage will occur after the fire investigation is complete. The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), the Indiana Fire Marshal’s Office, and the Indiana Department of Homeland Security (IDHS) were notified. Each agency has some investigative authority or, with IDHS, provides situational awareness to stakeholders.

All emergency responders are off scene. No injuries are known to the EMA office.
