
ST. MARYS (12-19-24) – Brian Christopher has been named the new St. Marys Police Chief. Christopher has been serving as the interim Police Chief following the October retirement of Jake Sutton.
Christopher said –
“I am honored and humbled to serve as the city’s next chief of police. I look forwarded to leading the department and continuing to serve the city.”
Christopher is a St. Marys Memorial High School graduate and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Ohio Northern University. He was hired as a St. Marys patrolman on December 1st, 2003 and completed his Ohio Peace Office Basic Training in March of 2004. Christopher was promoted to sergeant in November 2015.

With 21 years of experience in law enforcement, Chief Christopher brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and leadership that will serve our department and our city well. We are confident that under Chief Christopher’s leadership, our police department will continue to grow stronger and be more responsive to the needs of our community.”
