(12-12-24) A Winchester Indiana Firefighter lost his life while battling a fire tonight.

According to Randolph County Coroner Darin James, firefighter Rick Sanders (48) died at Ascension St. Vincent Randolph Hospital about 1:35 p.m.

The firefighter was taken to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

The Randolph County Coroner will determine the cause and manner of death. The Delaware County Coroner is providing assistance.
