(10-11-24) The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a SUV vs. train crash that occurred on 10/10/24 at 9:35 am. Honesty Mallory (23) of Lima was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox southbound on Main Street in Columbus Grove when she was struck by the train. The train was southbound on the CSX Railroad Tracks. There were two other adult occupants in the vehicle, and all three were able to exit the vehicle. Two of the occupants were transported to Mercy Hospital in Lima with non-life-threatening injuries.

Other agencies assisting at the scene were the Columbus Grove Fire Department and EMS, Pandora Police Department, Kalida Police Department, Ohio State Highway Patrol, CSX Railroad Police, Putnam County Medics, and The Shop-Towing. The crash remains under investigation.
