(8-8-23) Today’s special election centered around citizen-led election initiatives to amend the state Constitution, with proponents of the issue hoping to raise the required majority needed for passage from a simple majority of 50 percent plus one vote to a supermajority of 60 percent.

Results shows the measure is defeated thanks to metropolitan area counties like Cuyahoga and Franklin.
The two counties had a combined total of 340, 123 more no votes…the measure failed by 428,748 votes.


Rural counties passed the measure across the state, 78% of Mercer County voters voted for it.

Most people around here talk PRO LIFE, but where were they today? Yes, Mercer County is reporting a 78% yes vote, but look at the turnout! It is less than 13%. If this is typical in all of the rural counties, it’s no wonder the issue failed. We need to do better than that if we want to take our state, and our country back!
