Celina, OH (5-27-23) – Mercer County Sheriff Jeff Grey announced today there will be extra deputies patrolling Mercer County Memorial Day weekend.
Deputies will be assigned to have an increased traffic visibility throughout Mercer County. They will be looking for unsafe driving, use of seatbelts, distracted driving, and impaired driving. The purpose of the increased visibility is to reduce traffic crashes, and identify unsafe driving in Mercer County. Sheriff Grey would like to remind all citizens to never drink and drive, and encourages those who consume to designated a sober driver. In 2022, there were 17 fatal car crashes statewide during the Memorial Day weekend, 5 of which involved alcohol.
The Sheriff’s Office goal is for our citizens to be safe, and enjoy the weekend with friends and family.
